Ramirez 4E Classical Guitar

I personally selected this Jose Ramirez 4E Classical Guitar at their shop in Madrid. It is the top of the E-line Ramirez and is in excellent condition. It is made entirely by hand with solid materials and features much of the look and feel of its higher-level concert guitar counterpart, including:

* Cedar soundboard
* Solid rosewood back and sides
* Spanish cedar neck with ebony reinforcement
* Ebony fretboard
* Lacquer finish
* 52mm nut width
* 650mm scale length

Price: $2200

4E MADE FOR RAMIRES, 5E IN HOUSE NEW

Folks,
It's my understanding that the Estudio series is contracted out to other smalled guitar builders.
They are excellent builders keeping in mind the Ramirez name still goes inside. All located in Spain. Ramirez does the final finish.
Then comes along the no so well know 5E. On mine the inside lable has a redish border on the label with the year 1982 and street address of the Ramirez factory.
The 5E's were made by Ramirez in their small shop.The woods and finish closely mirror 1A's and were since discontinued.
I have both the 2010 1A and well as the 1982 5E. Both cedar tops. In 1982 I paid $2400 and last year paid over $10,000 for the 1A.
The 5E has opened up and has a voice that hopefully the 1A when mature will exceed. But has not yet.
Try to find yourself a 5E in good shape and take care of it. That means playing and controlled humity.
Practice with a purpose.

Hi David, I recently went to the store in Madrid and unfortunately they were closed for the holidays. I am planning another trip to find my guitar-- since you have already been there, how would you say the price is in comparison to the US? (I am in California) Or is it better to find something in the states?

Thanks for your interest...The Ramirez 4E is in great condition, with no separation/lift of the bridge from the cedar top whatsoever...I play it on occasion during performances when I'm looking for that warm, rich Spanish/South American sound with perfect balance..Let me know if you would like to set up a time to check it out...

I too am a previous 1E owner and have had trouble finding a 4E upgrade that was in good shape without a raised bridge due to them not being played and left at concert pitch for years at a time.I would be very interested if the guitar is all that you say.I too live in N.Jersey not far from Maplewood and can be reached at 732 221 2102.Leave message if no answer.
