My Martin D-15

My Martin D-15

I bought my Amansa 457 in mint condition on e-bay and I love it!

I have been playing non-professionally for 40 yrs. This is the richest sounding classical guitar I have ever played. My favorite steel string is my Tacoma model DR 20. I have a Martin D-15 and a Takamine N-15, but the Tacoma sounds best!
Thanks,
Fred

This is a student level classical guitar. I bought it at Long&McQuade in Vancouver, BC in October 2012. Comparing several other high level ($2,000-$3,000) classical guitars of Manuel Rodriguez and Almansa that were in the shop, the difference was minimal. I certainly won't play a concert on this guitar but well balanced and warm and rich tone I got for $450 is surprising. The guitar is not super loud. Still, fitted with D'Addario EXP Classical normal tension, the guitar sounds very convincing. My next step is to put Hannabach 815 - medium tension on it. Those are my favourite strings. I expect even more volume and perhaps richer tone, especially better sounding G string. Hard to beat for the money, pleasure to lug around not dreading as with much more expensive instruments. Giving 5 stars to this guitar reflects my comparison to similar and even a number of higher level guitars.
