And if you're selling, this service is free to both private individuals and businesses, but certain guidelines must be followed.

Guidelines for Submitted Ads

Guitar Description
Be thorough. Repeat the headline info (year, maker, model), and include specifics of the guitar. Include any other information you may know about the guitar, including types of wood used, scale length, condition- with specifics about imperfections, sound quality, playability, whether a case in included, and anything else relevant to the guitar. Be descriptive, knowing that a well worded ad will be more effective.

Contact Information
For private individuals, do not include your home address in your ad. First name and country is plenty to include. More detailed information (if necessary to complete the sale) can be shared off of this site, in private email correspondences between sellers and buyers.

Never use the "@" symbol in email addresses. Replace with -"at"- , -(at)- , or -(at the domain)-. Replace the period preceding the domain name with -"dot"- or -(dot)-. It's not good practice to display email addresses on the web. Spam bots search the web for email addresses to use for unsavory purposes.

Phone numbers can be included in your original ad placement, but it's preferred that you only include your email address, then give out your phone number to serious email inquiries about your guitar. Because this site has visitors from all over the world, there's no telling what time of night your phone will ring.

Uploaded Pictures
Be sure to add a caption to each picture. Let your visitors know what they are looking at, especially if you're trying to show minor imperfections or damage to the guitar.

Only use actual picture of the guitar being sold. Do not "steal" pictures from guitar dealers' websites, or guitar makers' websites. That constitutes copyright infringement and is unethical and illegal.

When The Guitar is Sold, or No Longer Available
Advertisements are not removed from this site. The older, inactive ads provide good, usable information about the different models of classical guitars.

For that reason, it's important that you return here and add a comment when the guitar is no longer available for sale. Otherwise, you'll continue to receive questions about your guitar. A quick comment stating "Guitar is Sold", or "Guitar No Longer Available" is all that's needed.

All submitted ads are reviewed for quality and content. Those not meeting the above standards might be edited to fit the guidelines. Low quality ad submissions will not be approved for inclusion to the classical-guitar-world.com free guitar ads section.
