For those Classical Guitars Luthier Built , advertising your classical guitars on Classical Guitar World is simple and effective. After you complete the details your ad is turned into a free standing page with it's own url.
This means that you not only have space for a full description (the more you tell the more you sell!) but you can also publicise the url elsewhere, in emails or on forums for instance.
Because this system is so different to other advertising facilities on the web I'm asking everyone to adhere to a few simple guidelines.
1.) Make sure that your ad's headline is short but descriptive. Good headlines sell.
2.) Put the most important features of the guitar in the first few lines and expand on them in the main copy. This is because when your link is listed on the main Luthier Built Classical Guitars page visitors see the headline plus the first few lines of text. Also, as soon as your ad is accepted it get's blogged automatically and these initial lines are seen on the blog post. This gives it immediate and massive worldwide exposure.
3.) Make sure you check all of the notification boxes. Visitors will be using the comments/questions area to ask about your guitar and you need to know when a question has been posted. You reply using a new comments box, it's as simple as that.
4.) Put your contact details at the end of your post. These are limited to contact name, phone number, web site url and email address. Email addresses are not put in the ad as live links. This is to avoid spammers stripping the addresses from ads. The web site url will only show as a live link once the ad has been approved.
5.) Don't forget to upload a photograph. It's simple to do.
6.) When you've sold your guitar all you have to do is go to your ad's page and use a comments/question box to tell everyone that the guitar is no longer available.
