Bellucci quality NEW
by: david

Having bought and played two Bellucci guitars before realizing that one gets exactly what one pays for and consequently moving far up the ladder in guitars I purchased subsequently (Manuel Velazquez, Marin Montero, Igncio Rozas, Papazian)...let me say the following: In my experience, Bellucci guitars often are quite beautiful to look at, with fine woods. The finish, however, generally looks like a plastic overcoat. The workmanship is very uneven (for example, I have had Bellucci instruments with bowed and poorly spaced frets, sloppy interior kerfing and gluing, etc.), and their sound tends to be muted when compared to higher end concert guitars. Caveat emptor.

A piece of furniture

In my honest opinion, Belucci guitars are just a great piece of decorative furniture for someone to decorate their home. Not a musical instrument.

Careful

I bought a Belucci guitar with a sinker rewood on the top - a bautifully made guitar for the price. It sounds sweet, but there is a dead spot, particularly on the 3rd sring around 10 - 12 frets. Not much projection and volume, but it produces a nice sound - like a parlor guitar. I wish it were not advertised as a concert guitar, though.
